The Kings Arms, Cardington

The perfect spot for cosy date nights, afternoon's spent with family over a big roast dinner, or summer cocktails in the garden with friends. This place can accommodate it all.

The Kings Arms is set in the peaceful village of Cardington, a short drive from Bedford and easily reachable from Milton Keynes too. It is well known for being one of the classiest pubs in the area and offers an extensive menu of drinks, including many a delicious cocktail, as well as a similarly classy food menu, offering high end pub food.

I went hungry, and slightly hungover, so I opted for the trio of roasts and was presented with a decadent mountain of food. The trio is made up of sirloin of beef, roast half chicken and pork belly, all were cooked very well. The roast comes served with roast potatoes, sautéed greens, bacon wrapped stuffing and bread sauce. I think bread sauce should be served with ever roast dinner!

I also ordered the cauliflower cheese side dish, as it would be rude not to. It was very tasty and the perfect amount for 2 to share. I still prefer the cauliflower cheese at the Herd, but it went very well with the meal.

During the summer, the pub has lots of outdoor seating in the leafy grounds.

During the colder months, it’s filled with cosy nooks to tuck yourself away in as you explore the menu. Plus, the bar area is dog friendly so you can bring you pooch along too!
