Paris House, Woburn

The days are short and the night times are long and cold, January is a time for cosy evenings and frosty walks. It’s also the perfect time for a little luxury, and there’s nowhere better than Paris House.

The long driveway winds through the beautiful 22 acre deer park in the Woburn Estate. I was greeted by a majestic stag when as the deer roam free across park. The house was originally built in Paris in 1878, the 9th Duke of Bedford fell in love with it and had it shipped home piece by piece.

The dining room is warm and welcoming, the staff are very friendly whilst still being incredibly professional. The tasting menu changes regularly but focuses on natural flavour combinations and seasonal produce.

It is hard to pick a favourite dish as each course was as good as the last. Particular highlights were the lamb main course which was perfectly cooked with flavours of turmeric and feta. I also loved the white chocolate and hazelnut tart, deliciously gooey and decadent.

Paris House is a must visit for discerning foodies, the entire experience was faultless from start to finish. Booking is required.
